Those of you who follow me on instagram know about my obsession with Norway, which was recently ranked One of the Best Places to Live on the Planet. It is a land of stunning beauty, amazing food and… full on gorgeous people. And when I say beautiful people, I mean “OH MY GOD WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!” hotness, where a V-shaped torso, chiseled cheeks and a strong jaw become mysteriously redundant by the second day.
It’s a visual treat in every sense of the word.
I went in May on a trip with Jarlsberg cheese. I and a few lucky others stopped in Oslo before heading to the UNESCO sites of Geiranger, Hellesylt, and Ørste. Along the way, we sailed the fjords, visited the Jarslberg farms and dairies, stayed in boutique hotels and ate like kings.
You’d be surprised at how good food tastes when there are absolutely no GMOs, all cattle is farm raised, grass fed and treated like family (in a land where a “large” farm has 10 cows and 20 goats) and the seafood is plucked right out of the ocean. It is a gastronomic delight, albeit one that someone who is lactose intolerant may not love as much as someone who doesn’t explode at the thought of cheese (Ed note: that last bit was for my mother).
Everyone should experience the Land of the Fjords and its people at least once in their lifetime. And now you can – for free.
