Hawaii: How to go Full Local

I’ve always said you will have a better time traveling if you do as the locals do… and trust me, Hawaii is completely different from the mainland. So lean back, relax and enjoy  your cultural guide on how to go full local when you hit the shores of the 50th State. [Ed note: take that spliff out of your mouth and shave those dreadlocks! Dreadlocks don’t look good on anyone].

If this isn’t enough and you are in the mood to fully immerse yourself in Hawaiian culture:

  1. Walk through living history and go visit the Leper Colony of Molokai.
  2. Learn how to surf with Uncle Billy in Waikiki. He can teach anyone to get up on a board and ride the waves – even someone who gets as easily seasick as me.
  3. Prep your stomach for Hawaiian food which is some of the heaviest food on the planet, including something called a Crazy Booger, Spam Musubi and other dishes that are no less than 1,000 calories. Not kidding.

Now go on, you crazy kids – grab your swimsuit and your SPF 9000 and get to the beach!
