The 7 Weirdest Things to Eat in Hawaii

Top Hawaiian Foods

Hawaii is a fascinating place for many reasons – least of which is the food. Where else in the world can you find spam musubi (a spam sushi roll the size of a nerf ball)? Or anywhere for that matter that still not only eats spam but may actually consider it a lost food group?  Then there’s the favorite (and delicious) breakfast dish, the Loco Moco, whose name literally translated means  “Crazy Booger.” Weighing in at close to four pounds and containing countless calories, a basic order of Loco Moco contains pretty much everything but the kitchen sink: rice, hamburger patties, fried eggs, cheese and – for some veggies: diced tomatoes and scallions. Don’t worry – there’s more! Almost every diner in Hawaii has it’s own version of the Crazy Booger and to really personalize it will add in pork, gravy or some other items that may be floating around the refrigerator. Because really – waste not, want not.
